With many events opting to keep the virtual elements affected by the pandemic, there is now a plethora of online content to choose from
Last year, with the global rollout of a Covid-19 vaccine, information security meetings partially returned to normal as many events returned to in-person formats.
However, as with remote work, a full return to pre-pandemic status quo seems unlikely, with many events recognizing the merits of continuing to stream presentations online for those unable or unwilling to attend in person.
Barring a dangerous variant of the novel coronavirus, the number of face-to-face information security incidents will increase further in 2022, and it appears to be another good year for hearing the latest cutting-edge security research and insights without leaving home. office.

The hybrid model has been embraced by one of the most popular infosec event franchises.
“Little did we know that 2020 and our virtual event year would be just a warm-up for 2021 and the future of events,” Black Hat Events general manager Steve Wylie told daily swig For our 2021 year-end review.
“For Black Hat, we believe our future will be in-person and virtual. There is nothing better than an experience of face-to-face interaction and engagement,” he added, but also said online access was suitable for “meeting attendees who cannot travel” , with the added benefit of streaming recorded presentations, avoiding the dilemma of choosing which meetings to miss out on.
Wylie concluded: “I believe the past two years have changed the conference world forever – hopefully for the good.”
