Warsaw, December 13 (Reuters)-Apple (AAPL.O) Polish antitrust regulator UOKiK said on Monday that Poland is facing an investigation into whether its new rules on iOS device privacy and personal data processing violate competition laws.

Polish regulators said that Apple’s new regulations greatly reduce the ability of third-party applications to obtain personal data to send personalized advertisements.

UOKiK President Tomasz Chrostny (Tomasz Chrostny) said in a statement: “We want to check whether Apple’s actions are aimed at eliminating competitors in the personalized advertising service market in order to better sell its own products. Serve.”
“We will investigate whether this is an exclusive abuse of market power.”
The regulator said it was investigating the issue, but the lawsuit was not directed against a specific company.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
European Union technical director Margrethe Vestager (Margrethe Vestager) also warned Apple not to use privacy and security issues to resist competition on the App Store.read more
